WeLcOmE To SurfChat MalayNet

Why MalayNet.........We choose the name "MalayNet" NOT because to make this IRC network is solely/exclusively for malays. No, we're not that shallow. It was designed for all Malaysian to come here to meet, chat and know each other regardless of race, gender, status or even age. An IRC network built by Malaysian for Malaysian. Hence the name "MalayNet" which is 'Malaysia + Network'. A network of friends, worldwide.
We @ MalayNet Networks is an Internet Chat Relay Network that was developed and designed for stability. We wanted somewhere that would be a friendly place that people all over the world could visit and chat. Since 2002 when MalayNet Networks started we have worked hard to implement each and every feature available to us with IRCd. When MalayNet Networks started we only had two servers. Both of them was in Malaysia. Our network has since grown to have over ten servers when we first bought our own dedicated server at Myloca Datacentre, Cyberjaya. This allows us to have a lower user-to-server ratio, thus keeping netsplits, and disconnects to a minimum. We later added redundant hubs to further increase network stability. But now, in the new management, we currently using just one server. We are proud to also offer the security of SSL while you chat. Our entire network is SSL compliant. If you have a client which supports SSL, you can connect to our network by choosing port 6670 to connect. Using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption helps keep conversations and personal information private. When connecting via SSL users are protected by 256bit encryption. To add another layer of security, ChanMode +z will not allow users that have not connected via SSL to join. This feature when properly used can make MalayNet Networks as secure as most online banks! MalayNet Networks has experienced heavy user growth over the last couple years. Most dramatically in the last 6-12 months. We attribute this to the stability, and the cozy surroundings of our network. We take great pride in offering the best IRC has to offer. One of the best advantages to MalayNet Networks is the overall willingness to help. Unlike many IRC networks, MalayNet Networks Operators are "generally" happy to give assistance, and are not infected with the "God Virus" that consumes many IRCops. Our Operators are expected to follow strict rules and perform ethically. If you have any other questions you haven't been able to find the answer to on our site, please feel free to send an e-mail to malaynet@malaynet.org or join #Help and speak to any Oper!
FeaturesMalayNet Networks is proud to announce its new features which make IRC safer and easier than ever. Our entire network allows SSL connections on port 6670. This ensures secure chatting in channels, and Chanmode +x will only allow users connected via SSL to access a channel, greatly increasing its security. Our services allow for quick and free registration of nicks and channels. Never worry if your nick will be available on the server again! All you have to do is register your nick and it will always be yours! Link multiple nicks together, great for away nicks, to ensure that you always receive your ops, and that you only have to enter your password once. Use "/msg NickServ LINK " to set this up! Our network runs an Open Proxy Scanner on all connections. This ensures that people aren't maliciously logging into our network claiming to be a host other than what they really are. If you notice activity from one of our server´s port scanning you on connect please just ignore it. Many IRC networks Proxy Scan for security. MalayNet Networks is proud to announce its new Redundant Hub System. This system should ensure that all servers remain linked to the network in the event that one of our network hubs goes offline. The system should then automatically re-connect to our backup server, restoring the network. Prevent Channel Takeovers! Our Services system can prevent this from ever occurring. All it takes is registering your channel, and ChanServ will protect you and, among other things, will always prevent the channel founder from being kicked from the channel.
